Product Overview
The Spoon Sports Baffled Oil Pan FN2 (manufacturer part number 11200-FN2-001) is a precision-engineered power unit designed specifically for the Honda Civic Type R FN2 (2006–2010). This specialised oil pan helps maintain consistent oil pressure by preventing oil starvation during high lateral acceleration, a critical factor for track and spirited driving.
This Spoon Sports oil pan replaces the standard sump with a baffled design that controls oil movement within the pan. The internal baffles reduce the risk of oil sloshing away from the pickup under heavy cornering forces, ensuring stable oil supply to the engine. Constructed to fit the FN2 chassis with the K20A/K20Z4 2.0-litre engine, it includes the necessary gaskets and an oil filter for installation.
Spoon Sports Baffled Oil Pan FN2 Performance & Benefits
By minimising oil pressure loss during aggressive driving, the Spoon baffled oil pan enhances engine reliability and longevity, especially under track conditions where sustained lateral G-forces occur. The integrated baffle plates effectively stabilise oil flow, reducing the chance of engine damage caused by oil starvation. This component also maintains the integrity of the oil pickup, ensuring consistent lubrication and cooling of engine internals.
Application & Installation
Designed exclusively for the Honda Civic Type R FN2 (model years 2006 to 2010) with the K20A or K20Z4 engine, this oil pan requires transferring the factory oil level sensor from the original sump. Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with the FN2 engine layout to ensure correct fitting and sealing. The product includes replacement gaskets and a HAMP oil filter, but engine oil is not supplied.
