Upgrade the clutch release mechanism on your Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution with the ACT Monoloc Clutch Collar 884006P. Manufactured from hardened chromoly steel, ACT’s one-piece Monoloc design replaces the conventional two-piece wedge collar and retaining arrangement used on compatible pull-type clutch pressure plates.
Designed to improve release-bearing retention and maintain consistent alignment between the release bearing and pressure plate, the Monoloc is particularly valuable on performance, tuned and motorsport Evo applications where aggressive gear changes place additional load on the clutch mechanism.
ACT Europe lists 884006P for selected Mitsubishi Evo IV–X applications, including 4G63-powered CN9A, CP9A and CT9A models and certain 4B11T Evo X applications.
Important: Evo X compatibility depends on the pressure-plate retaining design. Cars using the original Evo X snap-ring style pressure plate generally require ACT 884007P instead. Confirm your clutch specification before ordering.

The ACT 884006P Monoloc Clutch Collar is a performance upgrade for compatible Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution clutch release systems. Instead of relying on the conventional multi-piece wedge collar and retaining arrangement found on many pull-type pressure plates, ACT uses a strong one-piece hardened chromoly steel collar designed to improve retention, alignment and long-term reliability.
For modified Mitsubishi Evo owners, clutch reliability can become increasingly important as power, torque, clutch clamping force and driving intensity increase. Hard launches, rapid gear changes and motorsport use can place considerable stress on the release mechanism. ACT developed the Monoloc to reduce the possibility of unwanted release-bearing separation while maintaining correct interaction between the release bearing and pressure plate.
The standard wedge-collar arrangement used with compatible pull-type clutches consists of separate components that retain the release bearing within the pressure-plate mechanism. ACT replaces this arrangement with its carefully engineered Monoloc assembly.
The spring tension of its segmented retaining ring is designed and tested to maintain secure engagement while allowing the clutch release system to operate correctly.
This makes the ACT Monoloc collar a worthwhile clutch upgrade for Mitsubishi Evo performance builds, particularly when installing an uprated ACT clutch or another compatible pull-type pressure plate.
ACT manufactures the Monoloc from hardened chromoly steel, giving it excellent strength and durability for demanding street, fast-road and competition use.
The material and one-piece design are intended to provide dependable service even where the clutch experiences frequent high-load operation.
Correct alignment between the clutch release bearing and pressure plate is essential for reliable clutch operation.
The ACT Monoloc applies uniform loading to the release bearing and pressure plate, helping the components remain correctly aligned regardless of vehicle modification or driver input.
Benefits can include:
ACT recommends the Monoloc concept for a wide range of applications. It is particularly suitable for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution owners running:
It can also be fitted during a normal clutch replacement where additional release-system security is desirable.
ACT’s European catalogue lists 884006P for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV through Evolution X applications.
This includes the main Evo chassis families:
Do not assume 884006P fits every Evo X.
The Evo X application is dependent on the centre/retaining system used by the pressure plate.
ACT installation information specifies a different Monoloc, 884007P, for an Evo X using the original-style pressure plate and snap-ring retaining arrangement.
The 884006P is appropriate only where the installed pressure plate uses the compatible crimp/wedge-style Monoloc arrangement.
It is therefore strongly recommended that Evo X customers identify the clutch or pressure-plate manufacturer and part number before ordering.
Earlier Evolution IV and V models were primarily grey/import-market vehicles rather than regular Mitsubishi UK models. The Evo VI began receiving more formal UK distribution through Ralliart, while the Evo VIII became the first Evolution with full UK factory approval.
For that reason, UK registrations alone should not be used to confirm clutch compatibility. Imported Evo IV–VII vehicles can have replacement or previously upgraded clutch assemblies that differ from their original specification.
Always confirm the pressure-plate release collar design before installation.

Yes. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII CT9A is one of the applications explicitly identified in ACT’s installation documentation for the 884006P Monoloc. It uses the 2.0-litre turbocharged 4G63 engine. The installed pressure plate should nevertheless be checked if the vehicle has a non-standard clutch system.
Yes. ACT specifically identifies compatible pull-type Mitsubishi Evo IX applications for Monoloc 884006P. UK Evo IX FQ-300, FQ-320, FQ-340 and FQ-360 models use the 4G63 turbo engine, although clutch specification should be confirmed where an aftermarket system has previously been installed.
Sometimes. ACT Europe lists Evo X applications for 884006P, but compatibility depends on the pressure-plate retaining design. An Evo X using the original-style pressure plate and snap-ring system generally requires ACT 884007P instead. Contact us with your clutch or pressure-plate part number if you are unsure.
It should not be selected simply because the vehicle is an Evo X. The SST uses a completely different twin-clutch transmission arrangement from the conventional manual clutch system targeted by this Monoloc. Confirm the transmission and clutch system before ordering.
The Monoloc retains the release bearing within a compatible pull-type clutch pressure plate. ACT’s one-piece design replaces the conventional wedge-collar arrangement and helps maintain consistent loading and alignment between the release bearing and pressure plate.
On high-performance cars, aggressive shifts and increased clutch clamping loads can place additional stress on the release mechanism. The ACT Monoloc uses hardened chromoly steel and a one-piece design intended to improve retention and reliability.
Potentially, yes, provided the pressure plate uses the correct compatible wedge/crimp-type retaining arrangement. Compatibility should be determined from the clutch or pressure-plate design rather than vehicle model alone.
If the new pressure plate is compatible, fitting the Monoloc while the gearbox is already removed can be sensible because access to the clutch release system is available. Always follow the clutch manufacturer’s installation procedure and have the system fitted by a competent technician.
