Product Overview
Manufactured by EBC Brakes, the EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838 offer a high-quality replacement solution specifically designed for Volvo models equipped with Girling/TRW front calipers. These pads provide reliable braking performance and extended disc life, making them ideal for daily driving and urban use.
EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838 Overview
The EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838 are engineered as OE replacement pads featuring the Ultimax2 compound, a non-metallic formulation containing zero steel fibre. This design ensures a gentle interaction with cast iron brake discs, reducing wear and maintaining a cleaner rotor surface. The pads are intended for front axle fitting on selected Volvo 440 and 460 models with Girling/TRW calipers, delivering consistent braking performance with minimal dust and noise.
Performance & Benefits of EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838
These EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838 carry the prestigious GG friction rating, indicating a high level of braking effectiveness. Their non-metallic compound minimises rotor wear and dust emissions, contributing to longer disc life and cleaner wheels. Additionally, the pads have earned a Code 22 environmental rating under the USA SAE J2975:2011 standard, reflecting their low toxicity and eco-friendly properties. The red break-in surface coating ensures optimal bedding-in and quiet operation across a wide range of climates.
Application & Installation of EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838
The EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads DP838 are designed exclusively for Volvo 440 and 460 models fitted with Girling or TRW front calipers, covering various petrol and turbo diesel engines from 1988 to 1998. Installation requires matching the original caliper type, and professional fitting is recommended to ensure correct brake function and safety. The pads are supplied as a set for both front wheels.
